Main Sail Sheet Rigging Procedure
Step 1: Run the main sheet through the cam cleat, then through the
swivel block. Make sure the block is rotated the correct way if you wish
to use of the ratchet feature. |
Step 2: From the swivel block the sheet runs up to the boom and
through the first block in a forward to aft direction. |
Step 3: From the block the sheet runs through the webbing continuing
aft. ( The webbing is used to prevent the sheet from hanging down when
loose and catching on something). |
Step 4: From the webbing the sheet continues to run aft through the
top of the block hanging on the aft end of the boom. |
Step 5: From the block the sheet runs down to the block mounted on the
traveler. The sheet then enters the block from the aft and goes forward
and back up to the boom. |
Step 6: From the block on the traveler the sheet runs back up to the
boom and enters the lower opening in the block hanging on the aft end of
the boom. As before the sheet enters from the front to the aft. |
Step 7: Secure
the end of the sheet with a bowline knot. The other end should have a
figure eight stopper knot to prevent it from pulling through the blocks on
a reach or run. |
