Ashley age 14, preparing to raise her "RAIDER" mast. While standing in the rear of the boat, she has placed the mast base into the mast step tunnel. While lifting mast, Ashley is stepping towards the front of the RAIDER. While it may appear heavy, the aluminum mast weighs only 18 lbs., and the carbon fiber mast is only 14 lbs. Ashley continues to step forward, walking the mast up hand over hand.

With the mast almost completely vertical, the tunnel/mast receptacle holds the mast base in place and keeps the mast from tipping to either side. Once the mast is completely vertical the mast collar will slide down into its receptacle, continue to hold the mast with one hand and lock the collar in place by turning each (2) locking lever.
